Thanks to our Principal Partner Roy Hill, two firework shows will light up the skies over Elizabeth Quay, bringing the new year in with a bang as revellers enjoy the rides, games, food and carnival atmosphere of the Elizabeth Quay Fun Fair.

City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said for the first time two firework displays would light up Elizabeth Quay on New Year’s Eve – with the first run at 8:30pm, before the first-ever midnight fireworks show rings in 2025.

“Each year, our family-friendly Roy Hill New Year’s Eve celebration's attracts thousands of people from all over Perth into the City. This year, thanks to our friends at Roy Hill, Elizabeth Quay will once again be the place to be, for longer, thanks to the first-ever fireworks show at midnight.”

“If the crowds at Elizabeth Quay aren’t for you, the show is designed to also be seen and heard from Barrack Square and Birdiya Drive – near the front of the Conventions Centre, and Kings Park will have a good view.”

“Northbridge will also have its own midnight fireworks display for partygoers to enjoy and a lot of City restaurants are open for the evening.”

“There’s no shortage of entertainment - come for the fireworks and enjoy the Elizabeth Quay Fun Fair or explore the final night of the Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail. A variety of food trucks will be serving up tasty options for everyone to enjoy, alongside our world-class restaurants and bars,” added Lord Mayor Zempilas.

“The City’s foreshore will be buzzing with festivals goers as Freedom Time takes over Supreme Court Gardens and Seasons at Langley Park – it’s clear the City is the place to celebrate the new year.”

A reminder to get your SmartRider ready, as public transport is free over the summer period and is the best way to get in and out of the City. Extra services will be available on 31 December to ensure everyone gets home safely.
